Mistakes in NSO documents
The NSO has simplified procedures for clerical errors, innocent mistakes and second registrations of documents which will save those of you with problems a great deal of time, work and money.
This means:
- Wrong spellings of names
- Wrong Towns
- Wrong dates
- Wrong Genders

Late-registered documents which need to be no longer in the public record
And this applies to:
- Birth certificates
- Marriage Certificates
- Death Certificates
NB. This does NOT apply to anything that can be considered to be fraud or deliberate deception, such as claims that parents were married when they were not. You will need to clarify with the attorney (ie. not us).
Please note that not all attorneys here would be aware of this. We have an attorney in Quezon City
whom we recommend. The procedure is quick and it is cheap. We suggest that you use him, because
he DOES know about this, and will not pressure you into a drawn-out court case.
And no, we are not getting commission from him. Even if we wanted to, his fees are so reasonable it
wouldn’t be worth our while!
We will require that you are 100% honest with us as to known faults, errors and doubling-up of NSO documents concerning you, or we can’t help you. And we will need a document from the NSO that states that the correction has taken place, which we will submit to the Embassy.
